Why do conservation volunteering abroad?
The natural world is under severe threat due to climate change, land degradation, pollution, political inaction and other destructive enterprises. Human activity has altered almost 75% of the Earth’s surface and carbon dioxide levels have risen to an all-time high. That’s why IVHQ is the first global volunteer abroad organization to declare a climate emergency and commit to a Climate Emergency Plan.
Our Environmental volunteer programs have been carefully selected to give you the chance to be part of the solution. IVHQ’s conservation volunteers help important Environmental projects go beyond sustainability by regenerating lands, ecosystems and wildlife around the world, with the aim of leaving every place better than we found it.

”Our time in Puerto Rico was incredibly beautiful. Working with our team of volunteers on the environmental sustainability program was such a positive experience. We learned so much from the local organization that we worked with about why volunteer help is needed to keep Puerto Rico beautiful and environmentally stable. We were able to work on two different projects that have a direct impact on the community, and our volunteer program guides were so thankful for our help. Of course, we learned way more from them than could ever be expressed. The bonds that we created here will last forever, and our group is already planning our next trip. Puerto Rico is a beautiful country with people who truly care about the land and sea. Anyone who wants to make an impact on the environment for a beautiful country should consider this program.”
