I would say this was the best experience of my life. It changed me and made me a better person. I wish I could have helped more. And specifically about the childcare program, I went with the idea that I was going to help the children and make them happier, but they made me so much happier than I could ever make them.

I gained a lot of respect for the health care workers in developing countries such as Tanzania.
The advice I would give others is managing your expectations. If you have a lot of experience (as I did), you can expect to do a lot of helping out and in some cases educate the staff. I would also give the advice of not trying to lecture or infringe the way your country does things in health care, this can be received as very rude and inappropriate.
