It was a very beautiful experience. Being immersed in a new culture helps you grow as a person, as you adapt to different realities, step out of your comfort zone, and discover new perspectives. I loved that there are different activities to support the community, such as the women outreach program. The team was incredible ! The work can be intense at times, but every bit of effort is completely worth it.

The program guide and checklist was very helpful. I knew exactly what I needed to do and didn't worry that I was missing or forgetting a crucial step.
The local team was incredible from start to finish! I don't think I have ever met a group of people that have had more love and heart for us foreigners as they did. They were there for our every need and question. They work out of love and wear their heart on their sleeves. It was a pleasure to be amongst their company for a few weeks. I honestly can't find the words to describe it. They are different!
I spent the majority of my volunteering helping with the finishing touches of a home build. It was really cool to think about how many hands of previous volunteers and locals have contributed to this same project and that I could be a part of it, no matter how big or small. This house will likely be there for decades to come. It was a real blessing to have the chance to be a part of something bigger than me!
It's hard to find the words to accurately explain just how incredible my experience was! It was only two weeks. But in that time, I got to contribute to a project that was bigger than me! I was able to interact with locals and the children and share the most genuine smiles I've ever seen and had! I made incredible friends from fellow volunteers that I will never forget! Overall, this experience throws your old perspectives in the trash and teaches you what really matters most in life and what it really means to be happy! Of course, it was nerve racking initially to embark on this journey solo. But take it from me, with an open mind and a desire to love and serve these people your expectations will be fulfilled beyond what you could've imagined and in new ways you haven't thought of. So just do it! Don't be like the majority of people who say they would like to do something like this but never actually make it happen. You can make it happen! Now is as good of a time as ever! It was the best two weeks of my life, no exaggeration!
