Volunteering in healthcare in India for one week was a deeply rewarding and eye-opening experience. I gained a better understanding of how healthcare works in different settings, especially in areas with limited resources!
It helped me grow both personally and professionally—I became more empathetic, improved my communication skills, and learned to adapt quickly in new environments. It also strengthened my motivation to work in healthcare and reminded me how even small contributions can make a big difference. For anyone who’s hesitant about joining a volunteering program, I would say don’t let fear hold you back. You don’t need to be perfect or have all the answers—what matters is your willingness to help, learn, and connect with others. Volunteering is a powerful way to step out of your comfort zone, gain perspective, and make a real impact, not just in the lives of others, but in your own as well!
