International Volunteer HQ is proud to offer a deserving San Diego State University student the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful community project in one of 40+ countries through the IVHQ SDSU Winter Break Scholarship.
The scholarship is open to students of all Majors who are passionate about supporting sustainable positive change in communities around the world this Winter Break. It’s an opportunity to extend your education, to develop your cross-cultural understanding, and gain valuable international experience to support your personal and professional development.
Recipients have the opportunity to join a 2-week volunteer program with IVHQ, during the 2018/2019 Winter Break. Students are able select their preferred destination and contribute to a volunteer project of their choosing, provided they can meet any required eligibility criteria.
The IVHQ SDSU Winter Break scholarship includes:

- IVHQ 2-Week Program Fee
Our all-inclusive volunteer programs provide you with comprehensive pre-departure support services and training, as well as in-country program orientations, accommodation, meals and 24/7 in-country support.
Entries open 10th September at 7 pm PST and close 30th September at 7 pm PST. The successful applicant will be contacted prior to 15th October. The scholarship recipient must participate on an IVHQ program between 14th December, 2018 and 17th January, 2019.

Information on the program prize and how to enter form part of these conditions of entry. By applying for this scholarship, you agree to be bound by these conditions of entry and all decisions of the program promoter (International Volunteer HQ), which are final in all matters relating to the promotion. The program and these conditions of entry are void where prohibited by law. Any changes to these conditions of entry will be published on the International Volunteer HQ website at www.volunteerhq.org.

Employees of International Volunteer HQ and SDSU and their subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and members of their immediate families or households, are ineligible to apply for this scholarship.

It is free to apply for the scholarship. One application accepted, per person. Applications will be accepted for previous IVHQ volunteers, as well as for individuals who have not volunteered with IVHQ before. The applicant must be 18 years of age or older at the closure of applications (3 September 2018 at 7:00pm PST) and hold a valid passport with at least 6 months validity. Scholarship applications will only be accepted via the application form on the www.volunteerhq.org website. The application form must include contact details, along with answers to applicable questions.

The successful applicants will receive the following: IVHQ Registration Fee (US$299) and a 2-week IVHQ Program Fee (up to the value of US$650).

The prize cannot be refunded, transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash.

The scholarship recipient must participate on an IVHQ program between 14th December, 2018 and 17th January, 2019.

The scholarship winner will be notified via email or phone.

If the scholarship winner has not accepted the prize within 7 days, the next best suited applicant will be selected as the scholarship recipient.

No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected submissions or any errors or failures in internet or other communications. International Volunteer HQ reserves the right to cancel or modify the scholarship promotion if, in its sole discretion, the administration of the scholarship promotion is impaired for technical or other reasons beyond its reasonable control and, in such an event, may select the Scholarship recipient from all valid entries received prior to the impairment.

The scholarship recipient will be responsible for covering all costs not included in the scholarship.

By entering the scholarship, the entrant consents to being entered into a database and the promoter (International Volunteer HQ) may use this information for future email promotions and marketing purposes, which they can choose to opt out of at any time. Furthermore, competition entrants consent that their emails may be used by any scholarship partners for future email promotions and marketing purposes.

The scholarship nominees are also subject to the International Volunteer HQ Terms and Conditions of Service.
