Accommodation and WiFi
Volunteers will be accommodated in an authentic Balinese-style repurposed hotel with dormitory-style rooms. Conveniently situated on the main road in Lovina town center, the accommodation is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, ATMs, and the breathtaking black sand beaches. While the living conditions are basic, they are also comfortable, featuring amenities such as a pool, wifi, hot water, electricity, and air conditioning to ensure a pleasant stay.
Bedrooms are furnished with bunk beds, and bedding is provided for volunteers. Each room accommodates up to five volunteers of the same gender. Additionally, every bedroom has air conditioning and includes an attached bathroom with showers and Western-style toilets for convenience.
If you wish to arrive a day earlier than your recommended arrival date or spend a few extra nights after completing your program, we can arrange additional nights of accommodation for you at AU$109 per person per night, including meals, subject to availability. You will be able to book extra nights via your profile after you register.
Private room upgrades are also possible for an additional AU$281 per room per week. Once you have registered, you will have the opportunity to request an upgrade based on availability.
Kindly be advised that there is a 10:30 pm curfew at the volunteer accommodation. We please request all volunteers to be considerate and minimize noise during this time.
Meals
Volunteers will enjoy mainly Balinese-style dishes during their stay, primarily consisting of light vegetarian meals such as:
- Rice, fresh vegetables, and tempeh/tofu
- Nasi goreng - fried rice and vegetables
- Mie goreng - fried noodles and vegetables
- Gado gado - mixed vegetables with a satay sauce
Additionally, Western-style meals will be served twice a week. For breakfast, volunteers can expect pancakes, fresh fruit, toast, and eggs. Throughout the day, tea, coffee, and toast are readily available. Purified drinking water is provided in the volunteer house, as tap water is not recommended for consumption.
Meals are served within the volunteer house three times a day during the week. However, on weekends, only breakfast and dinner will be available. Should volunteers desire to dine out in Lovina, there are numerous restaurants within walking distance catering to various tastes and budgets.
Should you have special dietary requirements, please let us know ahead of time so that we can make appropriate arrangements for you. However, it’s essential to remain flexible as your meals may not be your typical eating habits at home.
